Man finds way to make V-Strom uglier
The Suzuki V-Strom is, right off the factory floor, a hideously ugly motorcycle. Highly functional, I’ll agree, and I wouldn’t hesitate to own one as they’re a joy to ride, but a disproportionate, front-heavy monstrosity nonetheless.
It would have taken this chap some serious thinking to work out how to make the DL1000 look any worse, but I think it’s fair to say he’s achieved that goal in spades. Presumably this is in the name of safety through high visibility - but I’d be more worried about car drivers running me down on purpose to make the pain go away.

German perhaps, nothing against Germans ( I Live in germany) but this looks like thier kind of style. OR could be a Nationalistic Swede.

The only uglier one I’ve ever seen was someone who’d converted a V-Strom to a trike. It looked bad and the exact opposite of useful. But I tend to think my black 650 has its own inner beauty.

This article really hurts! I have a V and love it. I allude to it as functionality over form! Anyway, I guess I will keep riding the BUFF (Big Ugly Fat F…..) and hope that someday my tastes mature…

Now why is that topcase still black ? It should be blue or yellow, lets face it.

They are a much loved machine. I would buy one straight away if I coud de-uglify it. Any Ideas, beside the “colour job”

Well … in the reality I’m not german …I’m Swiss.
And if it’s about color … I can serve you with a more colorful picture:
http://www.kczum.ch/moto/fotos/diverse/Strom_Herbst.jpg
Everybody is talking about the colors. But they are only the official
Off-Road-Colors of Suzuki; yellow, dark- and lightblue.
Beside all the fuss about colors … I made more than 30 modifications
on the bike:
http://www.kczum.ch/moto/fotos/stroemli/SSSYSO_Modifikationen1.jpg
The main modification were made with the front fork, the main suspension,
the brakes, the shorter secondary transmission and a lot of little things
which would fall in the category of human-machine interface. But I didn’t
touch the engine.
Now … my V-strom went from a mediocre bike with a few good assets
to a incredible, suberb, very personal motorcycle.
I can’t complain. Not at all.
